For Sinners Only

Why do I only pray when something goes wrong?

Most of us know the pattern. Life is fine and prayer quietly disappears. Then a diagnosis, a phone call, a night that won’t end — and suddenly we’re talking to God again.

It can feel hypocritical. But it may be the most honest thing we do. Trouble strips away pretending. What’s left is a person who, underneath it all, still reaches upward.

Instead of shame, try curiosity: what would it look like to keep the conversation going on an ordinary Tuesday? Not perfectly. Just a sentence. Just a thank you.
